Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that promotes strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The practice originated in India thousands of years ago and has been adapted in other countries in a variety of ways. Although popular as a system of physical exercise, in Indian traditions yoga has a meditative and spiritual core.
At State of Liberty, our approach to yoga is gentle. This doesn’t mean it’s not strong, but that we focus on finding ease, slowing down and learning how to practise with kindness and mindfulness.
It’s not about pushing, stretching and bending just to make an impressive shape. We want you to move with awareness, connect with your body and feel open and playful, all the while enjoying and trusting the journey.
