Bringing a new concept or idea to fruition tends to involve a great deal of research. Throughout the development of our online retreats, we’ve worked hard to understand the wellbeing market and figure out where we’ll sit within it.

The cost of attending an in-person retreat varies dramatically, ranging from £400 to £4500, excluding travel. These prices may be prohibitive for some, but saving money isn’t the only reason to invest in an online retreat.

Sustainable Wellbeing

We’ve always wanted State of Liberty to offer products and experiences with benefits that last long after a retreat has come to an end. We’re not selling a ‘quick fix’ or fleeting moments of calm. Instead, we’re committed to helping people create a wellbeing lifestyle that reflects their unique values and perfectly suits their individual needs.

To do this, we focus on giving you the confidence and tools you’ll need to make small, sustainable changes and form habits that will last. As a participant, you’ll always have access to retreat content, allowing you to refer back, refresh your memory and establish practices at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you.

The Beauty and Benefits of Retreating at Home

Rather than urging you to ‘get away’ and ‘escape reality’ to improve your health and wellbeing, we believe the best place to start is in the home.

When you invest in a State of Liberty retreat, you’re carving out time and space to nurture yourself, regain focus and improve your clarity of thought. By the end of the weekend, you should feel calm, relaxed, grounded and well rested. Our hope is that you’ll also develop a deeper connection to your own mind and body.

Deciding to tend to your own needs for rest, nourishment, sleep and reflection means you’ll return to the world refreshed and filled with new energy and ideas. Better still, you’ll have a greater capacity for work and the care of others. All without having to leave the house!

What You’re Paying For

Our Spring Retreat costs £350. As well as an entire weekend’s worth of practical and inspiring digital content created by our team of wellbeing experts, the price includes a luxurious pamper box containing everything you need for a restful and restorative pamper session in your own home.

Pamper Box Contents:

  • Our carefully designed spring blend of essential oils.
  • An apothecary of organic base ingredients (500g of epsom salts, 50ml of coconut carrier oil and 40ml of white Kaolin face clay).
  • A collection of simple recipes for homemade beauty products.
  • Step-by-step instructions for your pamper session.
  • State of Liberty scented candle.

One week before the retreat, you’ll receive a detailed shopping list. Depending whether or not you opt for organic produce, the food budget is estimated to be between £40 and £60. Many of the items we suggest will be essentials for stocking your food cupboard and you may find you already have some of the ingredients.

Although you’ll be retreating at home, guidance and support from our team of wellbeing experts will be provided throughout. You’ll also be able to connect with like-minded people in our dedicated in-house forum.

Written by Lizzie Jones SOL Founder and Holistic Chef
Hello, I’m Lizzie, founder of State of Liberty and holistic chef. My personal journey through life has given me a deep connection to a plethora of wellbeing practices. All have had a positive impact on me and are included in our online retreats. I have worked as a nutritionist and holistic chef on wellbeing retreats around the world and lived in India for 7 years working on yoga retreats, which eventually culminated in the opening of my own natural food cafe where I served yogis after their morning practice. This yoga lifestyle allowed me to practise every day and benefit from a wide range of experienced teachers. Home is now Bristol where I’ve been living for the past 8 years. I have another business called Wedding Yurts, and we host celebrations all over the UK in our beautiful handcrafted yurt venue. Life is busy! I support myself by eating well, drinking lots of water, regularly practising yoga, meditating and getting plenty of sleep. ‘Lokah samastash sukhino bhavantu’ ‘May all beings be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life contribute in some way to happiness and freedom for all’. This beautiful Sanskrit mantra perfectly captures my vision for State of Liberty. We are all unique and we all have our own stories to tell. Understanding your story empowers you to discover true health. You are the only person who can heal yourself because you are the only person holding the knowledge of who you really are. Together with the rest of the SOL team, my intention is to create a inspiring, supportive and safe online wellbeing platform. I believe that with the right tools and support, everyone can improve their health and wellbeing in a natural and holistic manner. When I’m not working, I enjoy travelling and spending time outdoors. My partner and I regularly escape to Hungary where we own a little wine house in the forest. The windows are wonky and it’s really quite wild. Located in the middle of nowhere, it’s incredibly quiet and at night, pitch black. For us, it’s the perfect contrast to city life.
