Autumn Home Retreat
Your Autumn Home Retreat will provide you with wellbeing practices and simple self-care techniques required for sustained wellbeing through the colder, darker and cosier months ahead.
At State of Liberty, we know practicing self-care is often at the bottom of our to-do lists, this has certainly been a common issue for our retreat participants!
Deciding to tend to your own needs for rest, nourishment, sleep and reflection means you’ll be ready to face the world refreshed and filled with new energy and ideas, while also enjoying a greater capacity for work and the care of others.
State of Liberty retreats have been designed so that you can enjoy a retreat experience in your own home and dedicate time for yourself to slow down, relax and be kind to both your mind and body.

Clem will be available to offer you support and answer any questions you may have.
In the morning, you’ll have the option of a 30 minute energising session or a slower, 30 minute restorative sequence. If you prefer, you’ll also have the freedom to combine the two.
At the end of the day, there will be a gentle 20 minute sequence to help you prepare for a good night’s sleep.
Through Clem’s gentle yoga you will experience the self-care of movement: stretching and moving through poses that create both physical strength and trust in our bodies.
You have ongoing access to the yoga videos to help you establish a home practice.
‘It is now over a week later, and it turns out this wasn’t just something that I did for two days and then forgot about. I can’t quite believe it but I have done Clem’s amazing yoga practices every single day (I have never really embraced yoga before, so this really is a miracle).’
Grace A, Spring Retreat 2018
‘Clem has a wonderfully gentle teaching style, the bedtime routine was my absolute favourite.’

“I’ve gone back to almost all of the recipes over the course of the last week and enjoyed each one.”
“I honestly felt like something had shifted for me – mostly around food. Throughout the weekend I didn’t feel hungry from eating the menu provided, and didn’t seem to crave bread, chocolate etc that I would have done before the retreat. I feel more in control of my eating, and with some new ideas of what to cook which is so helpful for me.”
Emma Coxon – Spring Retreat 2018
Gemma David SOL meditation expert, is committed to helping people achieve a state of balance between the body and mind.
She believes that through cultivating a practice of meditation we naturally learn to become more mindful each day.
An audio series of guided meditations have been intentionally scheduled throughout the weekend to help you focus, relax, sleep and reflect.
They’re simple and clear, designed for both beginners and seasoned meditators.
A 15 minute candlelight meditation for reflection.
Two 10 minute mindfulness meditations.
A 15 minute sleep meditation.
You will gain the basic skills to begin your own meditation practice.
“I’ve LOVED it. Each session has felt like a warm bath. Gemma’s style is authentic, plain-speaking and not too flowery, her tone is the perfect balance between nourishment and pragmatism in terms of recognising how we might be doing in the meditation without intimidating goals.”
SOL mindfulness expert, Gemma David teaches wellbeing for real life; the skills she shares can be used practically and are easily incorporated into your daily routine.

“By becoming more mindful, we can improve our relationships, cultivate creativity, increase quality of sleep, encourage openness to learning and nurture general feelings of happiness.”
Mindfulness connects each of the different elements included in our online wellbeing retreats; each element is greatly enhanced when approached mindfully.
The retreat features two 15 minute mindfulness meditations. The first is designed to help you connect with yourself and your home and the second, a candlelight meditation, will allow you to focus on your wellbeing practices and set intentions to integrate them into everyday life once the retreat is over.
We’ll also provide inspiration and ideas about mindfully preparing your home and creating comfortable spaces to enjoy the full range of wellbeing practices.

SOL Autumn Blend – The 5ml bottle contains approx 100 drops, you only need to use 2-3 drops at a time because it’s very powerful which means it will support you all season.
The SOL Autumn Blend is made from organic essential oils and is carefully designed to support you through this season.
“As much as I LOVE the idea of pampering (who doesn’t secretly dream of getting whisked away on an impromptu spa day!?) I think I’ve realised today that it’s always something that slides off the agenda for me. I’ll buy beautiful pampering treats with the intention of spoiling myself, but I think some part of me generally thinks it’s too indulgent to ever take priority.
Enjoying these elements today left me feeling glowing (inside AND out thanks to that lush face mask!). It was such a treat & the mental boost it gave me reminded me that it’s worth taking the time for.”
Courtnenay Pipkin, Summer Group Retreat 2018
Seasonal Living: Autumn
State of Liberty Retreats are inspired by nature and aligned with the seasons; each season supports, nourishes and prepares the body for the next season.
In autumn we are saying farewell to the abundance of summer and preparing for the reflective time that is to come.
All of the wellbeing practices and self-care techniques have been created to sustain your wellbeing through the colder, darker, cosier months ahead.
Self-care & Resistance
At State of Liberty, we’re particularly interested in the ways we resist and avoid self-care. We know practicing self-care is often at the bottom of our to-do lists. This has certainly been a common issue for our retreat participants!
Most of us never had healthy self-care practices modelled for us. We may have inherited beliefs that confuse self-care with selfishness, laziness or indulgence.
The truth is, when we don’t take care of ourselves, advocate for our needs or ask for support, we don’t receive what we inherently need. And for us to do our work in the world, care and restoration is essential.
Scheduled throughout our online retreats are focused wellbeing discussions to help you set clear intentions, explore any internal resistance to self-care and to help integrate wellbeing into your life long-term.
